building codes
07/16/21 9:53 PM

Hello all,

Our house was burnt down and we wanted to convert it into living space. They said we could convert it, but we would have to put it back to a garage once we move into a house.

This is nuts and I want to challenge their codes. They are not law and they can't man date them. I own the course but have not seen anything about challenging. Any guidance would be great.

I apologize. This is what I meant: What do you mean "garage"? And what do you mean "move into a house"? Does that mean moving off of that land into another house elsewhere? Also, What is the recorded land use for the land you want to use? Is it Commercial or Residential?

Sorry, I have a barn style garage/building that I want to convert to living space till our house is rebuilt. The county will let us do this, but once we move into the newly built house, we have to the garage back to the way it was.
