Im new here and have no legal practice but isnt the whole lawsuit procedure that this course teaches the same in ALL cases. Criminal Civil, isnt it the same in that we follow the lawsuit flowchart? Are all the causes of action, affirmative defenses, effective pleadings, moving the court, discovery, objections all the same throughout all courts?

Not really.

For example, In New York the rules of evidence in civil is not the same for criminal. Likewise, Family Court is not the same as the Supreme Court. In Family Court, you cannot issue subpoenas.

The course provides a framwork in order to understand the rules of legal proceedings but you must study the rules that control your state.
