Appeal - Oral Argument
04/29/22 5:49 PM

In my divorce case, I specified NO ORAL ARGUMENT in my Appellant Brief. Appellee/his attorney did not file a Brief.

Court of Appeals has scheduled an oral argument for June, which I assumed there would not be an oral argument since I did not request one.

Looking at Case Calls for May, some names have "Oral Argument Preserved" next to them and others don't. Did I not preserve my oral argument and I am not supposed to speak (as I did not want to in the first place)? Or am I supposed to speak? And if I do have to speak, how much time do I have and what I am I supposed to say? I wrote a 50 page Brief, but felt like I could have gone in many other directions with my brief since marriage and divorce is such a scam and this whole family court system is designed to take money from the "breadwinner" and I have learned even more since writing my appeal brief.
