Admissibility / Will it make it in?
08/22/19 3:10 AM

For me to win my case, I must get two things admitted into evidence: a)3 definitions from Black's Law Dictionary 6th edition b)3 quotes from an old book whose author is dead. The book is non-fiction and the author was an authority on the subject and has written many books (7) related to the subject.

A motion for an order for this information to be judicially noticed would really do me well.

What are my chances of getting the aforementioned out of court statements admitted into evidence?? Anybody. Give it to me straight, please. I'm in Texas btw, if that matters.

I appreciate you taking the time to look at this.

Thanks,

Jeff

JEFFREY24 ...
PLEASE STUDY MY COURSE before you go forward, because neither Black's Law Dictionary nor the "old book" you mention are "EVIDENCE" of any "fact" that could possibly affect the outcome of your case. They may be "references" and tend to explain some position or argument you are advancing, but they are NOT EVIDENCE, and they are NOT CONTROLLING LAW.
I want you and all my students to win in court, so I must urge you to STUDY MY COURSE before trying to follow anything you learn elsewhere on the internet (such as the crazy idea that Black's Law Dictionary is "controlling law". Black's is published by a private company, not your government, and therefore it is NOT LAW ... no matter what you may have read on other websites or in emails from amateur "lawyers" who've been misleading people since the beginning of the internet!
If you wish to discuss this, PHONE ME.

First, thank you Dr. Graves for responding...and so quickly too! A reply from you personally was not expected.

Second, I haven't filed anything yet...I've just been writing to the opposition privately, explaining what I see the problem to be and demanding they act appropriately. They obviously see things differently.

Third, this post was influenced by the story of Lincoln and the Almanac. I do understand the evidence traps as described in the course and I plan to subscribe to Westlaw to search for something I can actually use in my district court. Hopefully I can find something that speaks directly to the information I mentioned in those two unofficial, uncontrolling sources.

Fourth, it was always my intention (and still is) to speak with you directly before I moved forward OFFICIALLY, in order to get some insight. I will do EVERYTHING possible, necessary and legal to win my case. This will very likely be happening in the next 7 to 10 days.

Thanks again, sir!

Jeff

Is it possible to get a certified copy of a complaint filed with the State Attorney General? If so, would a document like that make it into evidence?
