Affidavits

Affidavits, as is presented in the course are at times used wrongly to lie and mislead. A big deal!! So the opposition ended their affidavit with "Affiant makes this affidavit based on her own knowledge and is competent to testify as to the maters set forth herein:" It is notarized sworn to: But she does not allege the statements are true. Is this a valid evidence to the truth of a matter -when not stated so?? Does the oath suffice?

That is used as a way to avoid perjury charges if not completely factual in law. Its a best of my knowledge affirmation, as a statement of ones understanding of the facts presented or alleged.
A handy tool to get your points in to the case without fear of jail. It can be ruled against..
just like this statement, it's MY understanding in my opinion.
The truth in my understanding can be corrected, and I am not making statements with malice or dirty hands.
