Does anyone know if IRS complaints for income taxes are supposed to be verified?
Example: IRS will usually file its complaint and attach what is called a true and correct 'copies' of Account Transcripts for each tax year [some revenue agent will give the irs attorney a declaration concerning these transcripts] however, when you look them over with a magnifying glass, you will discover that no one has certified/verified [there is a difference] that these figures are true and correct. All that agent's declaration says is that he certifies that his exhibits are true and correct copies of Account Transcripts. Has anyone else experienced this play on words? What's the difference? Will that hold up? Or do they have to produce a real verified Accounting transcript no a true and correct 'copy' of and unverified one? [History: In the past they had to produce a verified accounting called Form 23C, that had to be signed, etc. by the assessment officer or it was no good. They have gotten around that with these new computer generated forms of called Accounting Transcripts, they are not verified as true and correct, but the courts rely on them just as though they were; something fishy I think, anyone have any input about any of this post and whether it happen to them or what is correct way to combat this?]. Incidently, you have to watch out as you will get served with the complaint, the complaint will say in it there exhibits are attached, but they won't be, you may get them sometime later in the mail, or not at all.
